Unique Optional Course: Our Very Popular WILD Program!
Wilderness Inspired Leadership Development (WILD) - Grades 10-12
The WILD program is offered as an option to all international students who have successfully been accepted into our International Student Program. The Canadian Rockies Outdoor Learning Centre is an additional program under the Canadian Rockies Public Schools umbrella and WILD is validated and accredited by Alberta Education. This specialized course is offered in a variety of locations throughout the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Alberta, Canada and is specific to Canadian Rockies Public Schools. WILD is taught by highly qualified personnel who are certified in a multitude of outdoor disciplines as well as being Alberta certified teachers. No other school division offers this unique type of training, instruction and student development.
Activities included in our WILD 15 program:
- Water Experience 15 (5 days)
- Winter Travel 15 (4 or 5 days)
- High Ropes Course Day
- Wilderness First Aid Skills
- Paddle Canada Waterfront
- Canoeing Skills Certification
- 4 and 5 day experiences are overnight trips with accommodation in lodge/cabin, tent or shelter
Students also receive:
- Paddle Canada Waterfront Canoe Skills (recognized certification)
- Valuable Wilderness First Aid Skills
This fun and amazing program is an additional fee of $1,850.00 (2023/24 school year) and not only includes the above listed activities and accreditations but also all meals, accommodations, transportation, and equipment and rentals. Group will be led by certified professional guides and specialized teaching staff.
